I didn’t think I could love Mikey more until I saw him with braces.

The final turtle designs in Seth Rogen’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem have leaked online, giving us our best look at the film’s art style.

Over the past few weeks, several toy lines and marketing partnerships planned for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem have surfaced online, giving us a brief look at the final Turtle designs for the film, albeit from packshots that become blurry if you look too closely. Luckily, Twitter user lilbastard managed to find some high-quality versions of the renders used in the marketing, finally allowing us to see the designs in detail.

Although the original footage showing Mutant Mayhem renders was removed after a copyright strike by Paramount, lilbastard made a fake movie poster using the renders, which is still in place at the time of writing and allows us to take a look at the new turtles. What’s immediately noticeable is how bright and lively the four turtles are, with instant comparisons to Into the Spider-Verse.

The first is Leonardo, who looks the most unchanged and classic of all the turtles, having a normal height and weight, having no additional additions to his equipment or his look, which perfectly suits his thoughtful leadership role. Raphael, meanwhile, sports the same durag look he’s had since the Michael Bay movies, while looking a bit more buff than the rest of the Turtles. It’s not absolutely massive here though, unlike Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Then we have Donatello, who once again has become the skinniest of the bunch and is outfitted with a pair of glasses, headphones and a phone to make sure we know he’s the smartest . This is a bit of a stretch, but it should be noted that they seems to have removed the gap tooth look it had in concept artwhich TMNT fans weren’t so hot on when it was first revealed.

Finally, there’s Mikey, who’s been made much shorter and stockier than usual to accentuate that he’s the younger one. Renders for the Turtles’ masks let us take a closer look at Mikey’s face, which shows us that he is actually wearing braces in this iteration. This is interesting, because the Concept art released last year instead showed Leonardo wearing suspenderswhich now appears to have been given to Mikey.

Along with the drawings of the turtles, renders of each of their weapons have also been shared online. TMNT fans will be happy to know that Raph has finally regained his sais, after switching to tonfas for Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Some other cool details are that Mikey and Donnie both customized their weapons with stickers, with Donnie even having a little Sailor Moon reference.
