A Minecraft fan recreates the ancient city of Bloodborne in such detail that at a glance it could easily be mistaken for a PS1 demake.
Although it is known for its blocky visuals, it is possible to do Minecraft looks gorgeous, as one fan proved by accurately and painstakingly recreating Yharnam from transmitted by blood with such detail that a quick glance might convince someone it’s a retro recreation of the gothic action-RPG. Developer FromSoftware is known for releasing difficult titles, and although transmitted by blood may not be the most punishing, it’s still up there in terms of challenge.
As for Mojang’s open-world sandbox title, it continues to delight millions around the world with its expansive landscape and nearly endless creative potential available to players. There are also plenty of mods to keep the game ever fresher and more exciting by adding new textures, tweaking the gameplay, or even creating shaders that make Minecraft looks like it’s from the Game Boy era. But it’s the incredible builds that fans show off that are at the heart of the game’s popularity.
As spotted by The Gamer, Reddit user Parking_Price6980 showed his love for both Minecraft and transmitted by blood by recreating the city of Yharnam in incredible detail. A few images uploaded to the site show the immense amount of work and effort that went into this phenomenal project. With some graphical tweaks to the game, most likely from texture packs and mods, it could almost be mistaken for a slightly retro take on the FromSoftware title. In fact, one Reddit user said he thought it was a PS1 demake at first glance. The creator doesn’t mention how long it took them to build, but considering how accurate the recreation is compared to the original, it must have taken them a long time.

It’s also interesting that another user mentioned how Parking_Price6980 Minecraft the build looks like a demake, as there was an unofficial PS1-style reimagining of transmitted by blood released last year. Developed by modder Lilith “b0tster” Walther, this demake took the original PS4 exclusive from 2015 and rolled back the clock several years, making it look like the game was released in the 90s.
It also shows how it is possible to do Minecraft incredibly detailed look. While the vanilla visuals are what make the game so distinctive, there are obviously people who are interested in seeing what the Mojang title would look like with a modern facelift. The result is often quite impressive, giving fans one more reason to keep playing.
Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
