Voice Cast Revealed

Also this week, Warner Bros. released a new video sharing the cast of voice actors who are in the game. A big reveal was for director Phineas Nigellus Black who is played by Simon Pegg. In the video, Pegg explains that this headmaster is the “least popular” in Hogwarts history and also Sirius Black’s great-great-grandfather. Players should watch out for this sneaky character as he will try to “sabotage the player’s efforts”. This headmaster also looks like a pretty hated wizard as he prefers to tend to his “manicured beard” rather than actual Hogwarts duties, away from the beloved Dumbledore. He essentially assumed the role of prestige rather than educator. Having Simon Pegg take on such a character is awesome, who wouldn’t want the comedic actor to be their director? This will likely cause a love-hate relationship with this director for the most part, due to the character’s pompous demeanor. Either way, I can’t wait to see how this role turns out.

If you’re wondering where you might have seen Phineas before, he appears in the books and movies. His portrait hangs in Dumbledore’s office. But this time, players will be able to see him alive and in person. While a magical portrait usually only shows a small portion of that character’s living existence, it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of Phineas in the game. He doesn’t look like a very likable character, although he be related to Sirius Black, they don’t look alike at all. Describing as “not noble” or “interested” could be both embarrassing or helpful to the player.

The full voice talent cast has been revealed with Lesley Nicol playing Professor Matilda Weasley, the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts, and Kandace Caine as Professor Onai, the gifted divination and seer teacher. Then there is Sohm Kapila as Professor Satyavati Shah, the Professor of Astronomy.

There’s also a returning cast member from the original films who will take on a different role. Luke Youngblood, who played Lee Jordon, the energetic Quidditch school commentator, will play student Everett Clopton, a Ravenclaw. He is somewhat rebellious as he is described as an “underachieving rule breaker and prankster”. This is in stark contrast to Asif Ali’s Ravenclaw character, Mahendra Pehlwaan, who is a “passionate keeper of the rules”.

The playable character in the game is also voiced by Sebastian Croft or Amelia Gething depending on what you decide to choose. The infamous Nearly Headless Nick and the Sorting Hat are voiced by Jason Anthony. The Sorting Hat is such a curious object that it can determine where students will be placed in terms of houses. He will examine a student’s background, characteristics, and intentions to determine if they will be Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Gryffindor.

Other Magical Updates

The Wizarding World website has confirmed some details about the game via its FAQ version. In case you missed it, he explained that by mysteriously enrolling at Hogwarts as a 5th year student, you’ll have your own sorting ceremony (this has been shown before in trailer snippets) . If you already have a house using the Wizarding World website, you can connect your account to the WB Games website in order to use the same. This also includes transferring our chosen Wand Ceremony wand into the game. You can also fly in-game via a broomstick or hippogriff, so if you’ve ever wanted to explore places from above, now’s your chance.

Hogwarts Legacy has had a number of pre-orders, already topping the Steam charts for top 10 sales despite not having been released yet. It also won Most Wanted Game. But it hasn’t been a bed of roses for the franchise, as controversy has been rampant. His connection to author JK Rowling, the author of the original Harry Potter book series on which the game is based, has not been ignored and has led to numerous boycotts of the game after controversial comments from the author. Despite this, fans of the series have had the game top the Steam charts.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10 on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. 72-hour early access is available for those who purchase the deluxe edition. While PS4 and Xbox One players will have to wait until April 4 for these releases. The Switch version won’t be released until July 25.
