
Officers in the Tucson area arrested an armed smuggler and banned groups of migrants crossing the border from Mexico.
On the evening of Jan. 7, Border Patrol agents from Ajo Station came across a large group of migrants crossing the border west of the port of entry in Lukeville, Arizona, according to a tweet from the Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Officer John R. Modlin.
On Saturday evening, Ajo station officers encountered a large group of migrants west of the port of Lukeville. A total of 68 migrants were taken into custody and processed.

Officers took 68 migrants into custody and transported them for processing.
“Criminal organizations continue to exploit large groups of migrants for profit,” Modlin said.
A day earlier, a Tucson station officer stopped a vehicle on a highway near Three Points, Ariz., for immigration control. During the interview, the officer identified the driver and a passenger as US citizens.
However, the agent found three smuggled migrants – two of them packed dangerously into the sedan’s truck, Modlin tweeted.

During a search of the vehicle, officers also found a loaded pistol under the driver’s seat.
Border Patrol cameramen observed a group of suspected migrants on the morning of Jan. 5, Modlin reported. Officers responded to the area on ATVs and encountered a group of five migrants.

In the first three months of the new fiscal year, officers in the Tucson area apprehended more than 68,000 migrants, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas. In fiscal year 22, which ended September 30, 2022, officers in the Tucson area apprehended nearly 252,000 migrants.
