A creative fan of Far Cry 5 made impressive and tasty use of Ubisoft Montreal’s powerful shooter level editor, creating a surprisingly realistic replica of a McDonald’s. While gamers largely abandoned the game in the years following its release, Far Cry 5The level editor continues to be the source of awesome creations for players.

Released by Ubisoft Montreal in 2018, Far Cry 5 saw the open-world shooter swap the exotic locales of previous franchise entries for the rugged backcountry of rural Montana. In a new post on the r/gaming subreddit, user mojoswoptops2020 showed off an image of the incredibly realistic recreation of a McDonald’s they designed using Far Cry 5the level editor. While players may have seen Ubisoft Montreal’s shooter’s level editor used to recreate fantasy environments in the past, like the stunning reproduction of Skyrimof Riverwood in Far Cry 5this player creation shows that real-world locales can look just as awesome in-game engine. Featuring the instantly recognizable fast food chain exterior and fully modeled interior, the digital McDonald’s lookalike from mojoswoptops2020 is a sight to behold.

Redditors responding to Tasty Far Cry 5 creation were remarkably impressed with the level of customization, with several comments indicating that they thought the screenshot was a photo of a real McDonald’s at first glance. Noting that the interior featured the increasingly ubiquitous self-ordering machines found in many McDonald’s, one comment joked that mojoswoptops2020 should link it to the chain’s website so players can order real food in the virtual store. Digging through McDonald’s notoriously temperamental soft-serve machines, mojoswoptops2020 replied “This is based on real life, so no” when asked if the machines in the game worked. From the broken ice cream machine to the napkins littering the site of a children’s birthday party in the dining room, it’s remarkable how closely this digital McDonald’s matches the real thing. And while it may not exhibit the otherworldly flair seen in some of the most fantastical Far Cry 5 fan creations, this looks like a great place for gamers to grab some food while they wait for news on Far Cry 7.
